Private messages are turned off/on in your User Control Panel. You can quickly tell if yours are turned off by looking under any post you've made: do you see a PM button there?
Turning them back on is easy:
- Go to your UserCP
- Click "Edit Options"
- Check the box by "Receive private messages from other users."
- Click "Update Options" at the bottom of the page to save (not shown).
Thanks! I couldn't figure that out........
Actually, teens should have them turned off. Interesting, were you able to turn yours on? You shouldn't be.
Actually, now that I try, I can't turn them on. Thanks for explaining why though! That makes sense.
I turned my PMs on a long time ago, and I have been able to receive and send. But the last two messages I got a e-mail notification, but nothing in my inbox here. Any ideas?

I emailed you to let you know that I fb'ed you.
When I get emails through AO, I simply get the email in my regular email inbox.
AHHH I see! Please disregard! I should read better....
Bumping this up for anyone who needs to turn on their private messages!

Is there a way to reach a user who sent me a private message but when I tried to respond received this message “USERNAME has private messaging disabled.”
(Just in case you see this -you asked for Buckley and Beesly books.)
