Can I insert a photo from my computer into a post? And how would I go about doing that? The little icon up there that says Insert Image only allows you to put in a remote URL
where's Phyllis? Is she sleeping or something over there?
from what I can tell you have to have the photo hosted someplace (such as photobucket or wherever) and then use that direct URL to plug in and post here.
Kay, there's a photo icon in the editor that you can click to add a picture. I thought Phyllis had it disabled to save bandwidth, but I just saw someone post a picture in their introduction so it must be on.
You can post photos that are hosted elsewhere. PhotoBucket works well, or you can use your own site. Then you get the actual URL of that photo and paste it in, using the photo button in the reply page.
Phyllis, is that what they did here? Because it doesn't look like a link. https://amblesideonline.org/forum/showth...hp?tid=646

The photo displays here, but it is pulled from elsewhere.

Yes, that's what she did. Like Kathy said, the photo is not hosted on AO.
Another way to do this is to put a photo up on Facebook, or any other photo-sharing site, like they said, and rightclick on it (This might be only for Win7 but I'm not 100% sure, so if it doesn't work that's probably why.) Then leftclick on "View Image Info", the picture it brings up is going to be the picture you most likely want to copy. If you look above the picture, there's a line of text shaded blue, right click it and copy that, it should work, You can test it by opening a new tab/window and putting the URL you just copied into your HTTP bar and hitting enter, whether or not it shows up will tell you if it'll work, if it does then just the take the URL you just copied and put into the Insert Image bar on this Forum, and it will show up in your post.

IE- For a picture such as this: http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk25/...e/tree.jpg Will come out as: [Image: tree.jpg]

And thats a bit big... Oops.

or right click and 'copy image location' and paste that address into the box... a little easier for me, anyway :)
