post pictures? - JCE - 01-04-2014

Hello and happy new year, AO friends! Can we upload/attach a photo to a message we want to post on the AO forums? It pertains to Art Study. Thanks! Jenna

Yes we can! You can do it under the "New Reply" button, and then click the "Insert Image" button, as in this photo:

Which will open a pop-up that says, "Please enter the remote URL of the image you wish to insert."
But in order to get the URL it's requesting, you'll need to right-click on whatever picture you would like to attach, and select "View Image" which will open a new window with the picture, and the URL that it puts into the Address bar is the one you'll need to input to the URL Box.

Also, if you're just using the Quick Reply at the bottom of the thread, you still have to do the "View Image" route, but you can copy/paste that URL in between the coding [Img] [/Img] (Which is what the New-Reply button up there does for you automatically.) Or, you could simply put the URL on your post, and let the other users click on it and it'll open a new window for them, either way will work.

Voila.

Thank you. Oh, so it has to be on/from another website, but not say a jpeg from my local hard drive?

Yes, you will need to host it somewhere online. Flickr or Picasa, for example.
