Signature?

I see people have signatures and I see the box you check when you are posting a reply to use your signature, but I do not see on my profile a spot to write a signature. Anyone able to point me in the right direction? Also it says registered users only. How do I know if I am a registered user? Thanks!

I think its in your User CP towards the left, the big box that has lots of buttons, and it's the one with the pencil.
