I would really like for my kids to get started with this coursework. I am not seeing any links to get started. What are the steps to get the students set up and started with the curriculum?

There is no registration. You are homeschooling, so you manage the process. Have you read the FAQ?

I think I'd start there and then read the FAQ after, personally. It lays out what Ambleside Online is and how to get started. It has lots of helpful links, including to the FAQ.
