Hi ladies, is this still the same situation in terms of a living books option to AO9 science? Are there further / additional advice or recommendations based on the reviews?

Look for other science threads in this area for more feedback. I have actually been very pleased with some textbooks I've used in high school, supplemented with the books AO schedules and some others.

Thanks Kathy, I am looking through the threads that I can find. I was just wondering, as it has been a few years now, if there isn't a recommendation summary somewhere?
Also, I see in a thread that The Riot & The Dance is highly recommended but I can't find it on the website at all. Am I missing something?
Thanks for your help!

It's not on the website. I think it's still in the testing stage..There are different threads where it is discussed.

No, there's no recommendation summary. Many resources that people are using are not listed on the website.

Hi,
I know you have been working on this for a few years and may not need anymore testers or readers but both my students and myself love science - especially with the living books. We would love to be helpful to read, experiment and review any books that you are testing.
My eldest is currently in the last term of year 7 and I would be prepared to preread and be involved in teh experiments when we get to that.
Thanks for all your work,
Kathleen

Just wondering if anyone knows why the AO science project was ended? I know the idea is to just figure out what works for your child based on the current recommendations, but this seemed like such an awesome idea.

I think it just was too hard to make a one-size-fits-all plan. Some need a more rigorous plan to pursue college, others want a lighter science load to focus on other studies. And many people don't even do all the high school years of AO, so that makes it tricky.
Also, not everyone likes integrated science. And not everyone feels confident to teach high school science with living books.
And the children of the people who were involved in it grew up and they moved on to other things.

I thought somewhere was mentioned that finding affordable and accessible resources was also an issue. Science materials go out of print more quickly than literature.
