Tech Support (Parent and Student Access)/Updating Signature problem

I tried to update my signature in UserCP... I added 3 characters I think (changing a "Y8" to "Y9/10"), and I get this message:
Please correct the following errors before continuing:- You cannot update your signature because it is too long. The maximum length for signatures is 300 characters. Please remove 186 characters and try again.
Remove 186 characters?! What have I done?

I'll have to look at the sig limits again later, when I have a chance at my husband's computer. At different times we've limited by size or by number of characters. I can't remember off hand what the settings are now. Size just doesn't show the whole thing when it's too long....

It's still giving me the same response, and won't update it. I'm *guessing* that it's some of the html stuff, the face-palm Piccard, etc, since there's not that many characters even visible (and my error message is always very exact in the "characters" count).. but I also am not sure how to access and edit that html... Is there a post about that somewhere? I'll keep clicking around and see what I can figure out.

Edit Reason: added text
)
Well, I fixed it,... oddly. I found the html stuff, and there were lines and lines of stuff after my text and /color thingies.. Invisible (unless I highlighted it - they were white), it said "SaveSave" below my text. I deleted them from the non-html editing, but they'd pop back automatically and deny my update. So I removed all of it from the html part and it finally worked! I just don't know why that would even be there! So strange! Now my kids re all the right age! ha!
