I just feel like science is making me crazy. I'm not doing it right, I'm not organized enough. I really need a guide book or more time. I almost want to combine my older two boys, 18 mos/1 grade apart, and try to figure this all out together. They are already doing Signs & Seasons, Fabre, and Adventures with a Microscope together.
Me, too, Amy Jo. My oldest two are two years apart, but I'm seriously considering combining them for science as I really struggled to get any lab work in this year with my Y7.

Yes, Kathy's right, the Rhetoric one wasn't available at the time we posted.

What is the update on all of that? Thanks. Is the Riot and the Dance a consideration? I know it's discussed in some other posts, but I don't see it here and on the Ambleside website. Just wondering. Also is all that only for year 9 or does that affect all Highschool years? Thanks. Friederike

That list is a set of possible options, which could be used in Year 9 or any of the other high school years. It would not be appropriate to do the whole list in Year 9!

Option 2: Help us by providing feedback on Year 9's science and reviewing other science books:
Illustrated Guide to Home Biology by Thompson (pdf): For a more living science approach, plan to use a standard biology text along with The Illustrated Guide to Home Biology Experiments and spread it out over the next four years. On the Illustrated Guide to Home Biology website, the authors have kindly provided a key matching up experiments to the corresponding pages in several popular biology texts, including Apologia, CK-12, and Bob Jones:

CK-12 Biology correlation (pdf)
Biology, 4th edition (Bob Jones University Press) correlation
Exploring Creation with Biology, 2nd edition (Apologia) correlation" (pdf)
... The links in this are broken. Does anyone have the pdfs?

The pdf's are cached through the Wayback Machine at Archive dot org.
Copy the link and paste it into the Wayback Machine.
Choose an earlier date, 2015 worked for me and you should be able to open the pdf and copy it.

The highest design of philosophy was to propound and expose the beauty of virtue, and its charming aspect, as the most worthy motive to draw and influence the affections...virtue is but a ray of the Diety; and our duty is not complete, unless it be referred to his glory, who is the principle and pattern of it. -Thomas Boston
