I'm finishing up Yr 4 - planning to follow the schedule laid out here for year 5 to finish up Age of Fable for the year in May. My son is a late reader, but a bit of an older Y4. I'm debating continuing Age of Fable with him next year (me reading to him) and then having him read the Norse fables in Y6 on his own if they're "easier" than Age of Fable, so it could be an independent read, but I wasn't sure how difficult the language is. Is there another AO book that it is similar to, challenge-wise? Thanks!
It's not hard reading, and our version has vocabulary help as well.

As an alternative, if you like an illustrated book, you could also consider the d'Aulaires' Norse myths.
