Firefox on a PC. I should check if it's there on a phone.

Yes! It would help to know if it's associated with a particular device or if it shows up anywhere you log in.

I've never actually posted here; I always find the answers to my questions by searching. Please forgive me if I'm not replying correctly!

I can see the Christmas Break banner also. I'm using Brave browser on my PC.

OK, I think I figured it out.  I think that all of you who have been seeing the Christmas banner are using the Default set of templates here on the forum instead of the AO set of templates.  (You set that in your User CP up at the top left.)  I had made a change to the Default template set that I thought had not worked, and I had forgotten to remove it.  But it actually worked, just only for the people using that template set.  I've now removed the banner code from that set, so if you refresh your browser you should see the banner go away.  It might require clearing your cache, but hopefully not.

Let me know!

(I'm really glad you brought this up, because this may make future announcements and banners much, much easier.)
