I had convinced my DH to come with me, made arrangements for my Mom and Dad to take the kids for a few days, and was really excited about getting to go this year, since I missed the TX one. But logistically, there is very slim chance I'll be able to go down by myself. So, it has gone from, "this will be a great thing for us to do together and a chance for him to get a better understanding of our homeschool" to "I probably won't get to go at all."
Oh, Mandie. I am sorry to hear that you may not get to attend. It's so hard to learn that your expectations for something are not the reality it becomes.
We have spent hours every.single.day planning this event and had to make some really tough decisions - all covered in prayer - regarding whether or not this would be a moms only event or open to dads as well. Ultimately we made the decision we felt we were led to make. We know that this won't be something that everyone is happy about, but we feel called to devote this special time to moms who are in need of the encouragement we will offer, and we hope the gift will be received in the spirit intended. This will be a slumber party extraordinaire for AO mamas, and we can't wait to have those of you who are able to join us!
