We'll be closing the AO forum, FB group, and MeWe group on December 18 to allow our moderators, and all our members, to take a break from our online discussions and enjoy this time with family. May you have a blessed Christmas season!
December 17 will be a Christmas party, so we'll have a ChitChat post where you can share recipes, games, and other Christmas cheer.
The AO forum will reopen on January 1, Charlotte Mason's birthday.
Facebook and MeWe will reopen on January 7, after Epiphany (and Orthodox Christmas).
While the forum and other groups are closed, you will still be able to read and search.

editing thread subject? |

How do I edit the title in the thread subject line? A pop-up tells me to "click and hold to edit" and then I get a field that I can type into. But when I try to post, I get a message saying there was an error because you can only edit posts for 1000 minutes. What about all the posts I see on Buy & Sell where people go back and add SOLD to the title? Do all those books listings really sell out within 1000 minutes of the post? Or I am missing something when I try to edit? Thanks.

Day of Prayer following Hurricane Helene |

Join us today - for an AO Day of Prayer. We'd like to focus on our AO Community in the path - and aftermath - of Hurricane Helene. It's been heartbreaking to see the devastation, and we at AmblesideOnline want to lift this entire area in prayer.
Feel free to post your prayers here, your current status (if you are impacted, or you know others who are), and suggestions for how to help.
If you've been affected by the storm, know that we are praying, we are deeply concerned for you and yours, and we hope you stay focused on your safety. School of any kind is secondary. But when you do need to start to think about that, remember AO's HELP plan, first created after Hurricane Katrina, to be an anchor in the sea of chaos that follows hard times.
Albrecht Durer's Praying Hands is not just this term's art - it's a powerful reminder. We look to Jesus right now - and we pray for all of you who have been affected by this. Lord, we ask - and we keep on asking, in Your Name!

Leaving up 2023-2024 info? |

Hey! Question for the advisory- probably a big request but some of us in the southern hemisphere run on a different school year schedule (Feb to December) so our use of site/riches are not on the same USA timeline. I noticed a few weeks ago when referencing links to our composer they were gone and all 2023-2024 stuff has been removed. I see it’s available in rotation like 10+ years from now but was wondering if it’s possible to leave up 2023-2024 stuff up until the end of 2024? Or is that too confusing for the masses who use it from the USA?
Thank you,

WARNING: Tapatalk Ads |

If you are using Tapatalk to access the forum, or especially if your teen is using Tapatalk to access the forum, you should pay attention to the ads. For some users, the ads have become extremely inappropriate and hard to avoid. What you see may not be the same as what your teen sees. We have no control over the ads.
Many people use the forum on a phone or other smaller device using a browser. Once you get used to it, it's not too difficult.
We do hope to have a mobile-friendly template available for the forum in a few weeks.
Tapatalk has a paid option that lets you avoid ads. We are not affiliated with Tapatalk and do not benefit financially from this, but this option might help you in the interim.

Bouncing Emails |

Now that emails are working again, we'll be contacting you (or attempting to contact you) if your email is bouncing. We'll send you a Private Message to let you know that it is bouncing. We can't let emails continue to bounce, so we'll have to put your account in a Parked status if we can't correct the problem with your email.
You can avoid this by making sure the email address on your account is up-to-date and working properly. Also, you can shut off email notification for your subscriptions if you don't want to receive the emails. Do this in User CP (upper left in a browser). You can't change your account settings in Tapatalk. You can also unsubscribe from emails using the link at the bottom of the emails you are receiving.
If you need help with this, email us at aoforum@amblesideonline.org.
