I was looking around and I noticed that some people have display titles under their names. Mine is currently “(AO student)”, and I was wondering, is there some way to change that? I looked around and couldn’t find anything, but I often overlook things.

Today is our day for #rememberingwendiao - the day that would have been Wendi Capehart's 60th birthday, and the day that is her first birthday in heaven. Wendi was a co-creator and co-founder of AmblesideOnline, an Advisory member, and our beloved friend. The Advisory members made this video to share just a little about Wendi, her role in AO, and her impact on our lives. We encourage you to share with us what you are doing today to remember Wendi - whether it's to read a psalm, sing a hymn or folk song, go outside into nature, or help a child in need. How we thank God for Wendi Capehart. We will never stop missing her.

On March 30th, which would have been Advisory member/co-founder/co-creator Wendi Capehart’s 60th birthday, we would like to honor her in a special way in the AO Community.

We will have a #RememberingWendiAO Day, and our plan is for it to be a day in which we encourage you and your families to do one of the things that mattered to Wendi.

We suggest that you:

-Read a Psalm - alone, out loud, or with your children. And try your hand at writing it out!
-Sing a hymn.
-Sing a folk song.
-Go outside! And bring a child with you.
-Seek out a child to help, especially a child in need. Find a foster family that you can help! -Read a book about another culture.
-Send a note of encouragement to someone (maybe with the written-out Psalm, as Wendi did!).
-Pray for one another.

And we suggest that you share what you are doing on that day, with a comment, photo, or video, that has the hashtag #RememberingWendiAO. You can share this on here on our AO forum, on our Facebook page, through our Instagram page, on MeWe, or on your own pages with the hashtag above.

We will also share our own Advisory video that day, in which the remaining five of us talked about our deep love for Wendi, and what she meant to us and the Charlotte Mason and AO Community worldwide.

I was perusing the FAQ.  In the section under Social Studies/History there is a note concerning historical accuracy of TCOO.  There is a link to a letter by the advisory that only leads to the main page breakdown of TCOO for the years it's used.

In Year 8, the footnote for Adventures with a Microscope has a link to a study guide. The link has an error that states the file requested does not exist.  I don't know if the files have been taken down or if this is in error. 

Footnote:
"72. Adventures with a Microscope: Choose 12 adventures if you are able to procure/borrow a microscope. Jeanne Webb wrote a study guide"

It is with the deepest sorrow we must share with you the difficult news that our beloved friend, colleague, and sister, Wendi Capehart, is with the Lord.

She was released from her sickness-ridden body tonight in the presence of her children, and she was immediately with the Savior who loves her with an everlasting love. We ask that you pray for Wendi's entire family, still grieving the loss of Angel on January 20th. We ask that you pray for us, as we seek to reconcile ourselves to that which cannot be reconciled, this side of Glory. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. We grieve, not as those who have no hope. Until that day when we see you again, we love you, Wendi, more than words can say.

We will be remembering her as an AO Community more fully in the coming days. We wish to reassure you that the work of AmblesideOnline, which (after the raising of her children) was Wendi's other life work, will go on, though the loss of Wendi's knowledge, brilliance, and compassion can never, ever be replaced.

I'm struggling to find the essays on the schedule in year 11. There don't seem to be notes that point/ link to them.  Can someone tell me where to find them?  Thanks!

Hi! I could use some guidance on opening a schedule in editable ODT format. I try to "right click" so I can open in another format (I would like to use my Open Office 4 Apache). However, it always defaults back to microsoft word and I am unable to open and do not want a microsoft word account. I have been walked through this in the past but it seems to get more difficult to do this. Any help for this technically challenged mom?

On this thread, the Like button isn't showing up anymore.  I see it on other threads.  Is it me?

The forum will take a restful break for Christmas from December 18 until January 1.  Our other social media will break from December 18 until January 8.  (January 1 is Charlotte Mason's birthday.  January 8 allows us to break during Orthodox Christmas, which is later than the western Christmas.)  During this time you will be able to view posts but not make them.

May you and your family experience the peace of Christ during this Christmas season!
