We just made a change to the rules, mostly to clarify something we intended all along.  We added a couple of sentences to section #2 to make it clear that nobody's posts from the forum should be re-posted anywhere else, in whole or in part, even via screenshot.  And no posts from any other private space should be re-posted here.

Someone from the AO Facebook group recommended that I post this here. I've noticed that some books that aren't provided with an archive.org, Gutenberg, or other free public domain link on the AO booklist do actually have free online versions available on archive.org or other sites (mostly archive). Archive.org does require you to create a free account and borrow them by the hour. I know a lot of other AO parents have found these because they are sometimes checked out! But I thought it could be helpful to add those links to the booklists so new AO users know that they're not required to buy those books. Here's my preliminary list, and I'll add more as I come across them:

Benjamin Frankin, Ingri D'Aulaire (Y1)
Poor Richard by James Daughtry (Y4)
Joan of Arc by Diane Stanley (Form 1B groups)
Paddle to the Sea by Holling C Holling (Y1)

Hello, I am wondering if anyone has prepared a very user friendly, readable, printable master booklist? 

I am a person who uses my phone to access the internet, no computer with internet access at home. Using this website on my phone is very challenging for me, as I am an admittedly notorious bad technology user. I have a difficult time trying to figure out where a particular book might fit into the curriculum (or whether it does at all). 

For instance, if I were to try and figure out which year my copy of D’Aulaire’s Greek Myths would fit, I’d try typing it into the search bar, and follow the duck duck go link to a whole lot of nothing. 

I have a printout of the OLD master booklist to help me keep track of our books. So for instance, let’s say I want to see where The Rise And Fall Of The Third Reich goes, I open my binder and start reading line upon line in minuscule print until I find it. 

There’s got to be an easier way! It seems like some computer savvy Ambleside user might have created a nice, intended for print, readable, PDF list (??? PLEASE???)

Under science biography, the book Talking Wire by OJ Stevenson has a link to Amazon to purchase, but the book is out of print and unavailable. It is very hard to find. I thought were were going to have to miss out on it until I did an internet search and found out Living Books Press reprinted it. Is it possible to get a link to the reprint included on the booklist?

Year nine page, in the footnotes, the links are the wrong way around.  Tables of contents goes to the breakdown page and the breakdown link leads to Table of contents.


For planning purposes, there is a Table of Contents with dates for all 4 volumes of A History of the English Speaking Peoples, and a schedule to break down the week's chapter into 4 short daily readings. (Back)

If you have a gmail account, I want to know if you are receiving emails from the forum.  Do you receive the subscription emails (if you turned that on in your User CP)?  Do you receive password reset emails (if you requested a reset)?

I've noticed that when I hit 'like' on a post, the like turns blue, but when I come back to that thread later, it looks like I didn't hit 'like' (no longer blue, number of 'likes' is 0). Is that a glitch or am I doing something wrong? I'm using tapatalk but I believe I've noticed the same on the website.
