How to share a pdf |

Is there any way to post or share a pdf file in the forums?
I would like to share in the music forum one or more pdf pieces of music (AO folk song that I have typed up for instruments).
If there isn't, my workaround would be to have my husband post it on a website and then link to it, but seemed like it could be simpler to somehow attach it directly in the forum.

Has anyone else been having trouble with Tapatalk in the past few days? Obviously, I can still write, but pretty much nothing else is working. I can describe more specifically later if necessary, but I just thought I'd ask if others are having trouble first... or maybe it's just something with our bad internet connection?

Conference audio! |

This past May, we were honored and excited to gather in a humble patch of Texas prairie. For months, we planned and prayed over every hour of that time together. Our deep-in-the-heart desire was for that conference to bless the boots off of our attendees. God met us, and we had three golden days of AO goodness, under the big Texas sky.
And now - it's your turn! We want to share that Deep in the Heart of AO conference with you. From the very beginning, AmblesideOnline has been about growing and learning together in community. All of this began with a handful of newfound online friends wading into the unknown deeps of Charlotte Mason's six astonishing, all-but-forgotten books. As her timeless ideas came to life in our midst, they brought purpose, delight, clarity, ease, and beauty into our family learning endeavors. So we decided to recreate Mason's rich PNEU school curriculum for our children.
The AO Advisory never dreamed that this thing we did for the love of our own children would grow up to become a non-profit educational foundation. Today, the AO community numbers far into the thousands, and circles the globe. It's always AO time somewhere!
So join us - we will be releasing audio files from the conference, one at a time, so you can savor the riches and the fellowship. Our first one is the opening plenary by Advisory member Donna-Jean Breckenridge, on "Renewing the Mind: Homeschooling in Hard Times." For our 15th anniversary celebration, we want to offer it for .99 the first day. The price will return to $5 after that.
We're delighted to be able to share this with you!

KimSanDiego suggested a thread where resources from the conference could be posted - great idea!
Here are my nature journaling supplies I promised. Quick Disclaimer: This is what we use for painting in our nature journals out in the field, I am in no way saying these are the only or the best things available. This is just what we've come to use.
Windsor & Newton small paint set - learn to mix colors.
A little vial for water, or use one section of the lid for water
mechanical pencil - keeps a fine point
black water color paint (not in my palette and never black enough when I mix blue and brown)
gouache - transparent white paint
paper towel - for dabbing excess water
Pilot Fineliner pen - for writing in nature journal
Strathmore Visual Journal - 5.5 x 8 in mixed media journal 34 sheets spiral bound - small and lightweight enough to carry and thick paper to prevent bleed through.
hydroflask water bottle - keeps water ice cold for 24 hours
Carson microbrite lighted microscope - takes a little getting used to, inexpensive field microscope
field guides - laminated & folded so it's durable in the field, useful in field because not a lot of info on it, shows all the different types on one page for quick id. Here are a couple examples:

Google docs year 7 file |

So I download the year 7 .doc file. It looks great. I upload it to my google drive, view it and it still looks great. I open it in edit mode and suddenly it does not look great. It's very messed up and large portions of some of the tables are off the side and I can't move them nor can I copy the data in them. It's being incredibly difficult and frustrating. Does anyone has a suggestion of how to fix this? Without having to start from scratch and write it all in. I'm about ready to try something else. In which case, suggestions are welcome.

AO's "Deep in the Heart" Conference Status:
We have exceeded our limit of 200, but because quite a few are commuting, we still have room for a few more. Last day to register (if spaces don't fill before then) is Sunday, April 24th -- that's TOMORROW!

Conference scholarships! |

Great news! thanks to the generosity of a very special lady, we have some scholarships we can award and we want to share them!
If you could not come to the conference before, but a 100 dollar donation towards your conference fee would make it possible, please email us and include a short note about why you think our conference will help you. You do need to be sure you can come w/that help, because we want to award them quickly!
Unfortunately, the deadline for special meal requests has passed, so you need to be able to eat the regular fare, or bring your own and eat out on the grounds or, I suppose, your hotel rooms, not sure what Lakeview prefers, except they say no outside food in their dining hall.
We have a limited number of these scholarships, so please only email if you are sure you can come with this help.
Email us at amblesideonline@gmail.com to tell us you are coming and want a scholarship. Priority goes to those we hear from in the next 3 days.

Year 5's schedule has changed. Wild Animals I Have Known is now scheduled across all three terms instead of only in Term 1. I just changed the charts. I expect the booklist and schedule to be updated soon.
