Can I email forums or threads? |

Although I did install the Forum Runner app which lets me read the forum on my iPod Touch when I have wi fi, I REALLY would like a way to read things offline. That's the thing I really like about the Yahoo Groups; I can get the daily digest by email and read it when I'm out and about. Don't get me wrong, I like the organization of the forum! I THOUGHT Kathy Livingston said there was a way to have threads emailed to myself and read them offline, but I may have misunderstood. I have chosen the "email when a new post is made" button, but I would like to be able to scan through the threads (on the computer or Forum Runner), and easily choose several to "store" (via email??) to read later offline. Any ideas? Or is this impossible? :-(
Thanks!

PM Download/Export --Where do they go? |

Hi,
I just maxed out my storage limit for PMs, so I opted to download and export all of my folders. I assumed that this would go to my computer at some oint, and so chose the option to delete them from my folders once they were exported. I followed the steps, was presented with a page with all of my messages, but there was never given an option to download/export them to my computer. Did I miss it?
Please splain to me what I need to do next time.
Thanks!

TIP: Multiple quotes |

When you want to quote more than one person, the easiest way to do that is the little button that looks like a plus sign:
Click on that plus by each post that you want to quote. Once you've clicked on it, it will change to a minus, and you can click on that again, if you change your mind. When you get to the end, you'll see the little message I have circled. Of course, you'll still need to clip all the quotes down to just the part that applies to what you're writing, but they will all be there for you.
I also just discovered that if you click the plus sign on one thread, and then go to another, you can quote from the first thread there, too. That could come in handy sometimes.

I've noticed that I'm not receiving notices of posts in my subscribed forums/threads until many hours (half-a-day sometimes) after they are posted; at other times they come pretty quickly. Is this what we should expect or is this a known glitch?
Thanks.

I briefly tried to figure out what I'm missing, but then decided to do it this easy way by asking here.
When I come to look at posts, I opt for "View New Posts" or "View Today's Posts" to begin.
Once that page pulls up, I opt to sort by forum. I think the default sort is descending according to time posted.
After I've chosen to sort by forum, next to "Forum" will then read [desc]. When I read the forum names, they are combined somewhat, but jumbled and appear to be sorted by ??? I can't figure it out.
Alphabetically speaking, when I sort by [desc] they are sorted "M,E,F,L" ... Wait, is it sorting by the ascending and descending order according to how they're listed on the main forum page?
YES! That must be it. I just looked and that's what it seems to be doing.
I'm sorry, but I can't recall what order everything is in on that page. Could we cause it to sort forums alphabetically like it does with user names?

I didn't really find a forum for asking this specific question since it covers a book scheduled from years 7-10. So if this question should be asked somewhere else please direct me.
I posted this on HEO recently but no one ever responded (not that this is an earth shattering question or anything) so I thought I'd try again here on the forums.
While planning the chapters from this book for Year 10 I noticed that a total of 6 chapters are totally skipped. There are 3 chapters left out between years 8 and 9 and another 3 chapters left out between years 9 and 10. The ones that are left out are chapters 60-62 covering Dryden and Defoe and chapters 74-76 covering Wordsworth, Coleridge, and Southey. Was this intentional or an oversight? And if these authors were intentionally left out, what was the reason? I'm pretty sure every other chapter in the book is scheduled over the course of years 7-10. It was funny to me because I didn't even notice skipped chapters when I was planning year 9 last year.
Thanks much,
Linda
