I can't edit my post |

Normally there is a little button at the bottom of my post that i can click to edit. My most recent post entitled "Anglophiles Unite" does not have a button and I NEED to edit it! It's driving me nuts. Can anyone help me? Why doesn't it have an edit option?!

When you registered for the forum, you provided an email address. That email address needs to be updated if you change the email that you actually use. You can change it from a web browser (not from Tapatalk) this way:
Look for Control Panel at the upper left, below where it says AmblesideOnline and where it says Welcome back.
Click Control Panel, and it will take you to the User Control Panel.
On the left, in the middle, is a section called Your Profile.
Look for Change Email.
This is where you make changes to your account email address. Please keep it up to date! That will help us contact you. That will help you get back in if you forget your password.

AO Brochure |

Have you seen the "new" *official* AO brochure? It's actually been linked from the website for quite awhile, but I don't think we ever announced it. You can find it here:
https://amblesideonline.org/
Look for the link on the right, where it says, "Downloadable tri-fold brochure."
Be sure to open the file in Adobe Acrobat, and set it to print in Landscape and at the Actual Size.
If your printer duplexes, then select Flip On Short Edge.

I am an infrequent user of this forum. When I do come here, I always have to reset my password. This morning was no exception. It sends me this activation code which takes several minutes to show up in my email so this morning I ended up with two of these. You take that code and enter it and then it sends me a new password made up by the forum and something I will never remember (hence always needing to go through the ordeal of resetting my password which takes at least ten minutes every time I venture over here...and you wonder why I never use the forum). I tried sending an email to "Contact Us" and it tried to automatically open my email program (which I do NOT use) and when I tried to copy the email address and use it instead, the email bounced back with an "invalid email address" - %20amblesideonlinemoderators@gmail.com
Every other website, when I need to reset my password, it always has me reset my own new password. This morning I spent an additional five minutes trying to figure out where to go to reset the password to something I could actually remember. The process is not intuitive nor is it user friendly. The program should automatically take you to a screen and require you to do this before entering the forums.
That should go without saying. Usually I come here because I have a question or am frustrated with something and am seeking help. To be greeted with more frustration due to poorly written software only serves to make things worse. I've had this happen so many times. I'm sure those who come here every day and have their password memorized or come here frequently enough that the website hasn't "forgotten them" know nothing of this frustration. I know the moderators get frustrated because people like using Facebook to ask questions rather than coming here. Well, perhaps this will help you understand why.
Also, as I type, the words appearing on the screen are so slow. They appear about a sentence behind what I have actually typed, making editing difficult and cumbersome. I don't have this problem anywhere else? Why here? So frustrating.

Christmas Break 2018 |

This is a VERY important announcement regarding our 2018 Christmas Break: The AO Forum and Facebook group will take a restful Holiday Break beginning on Saturday, December 15. We'll re-open the forum again on Charlotte Mason's birthday, Monday, January 1, and re-open the Facebook chat group on Monday, January 7. Thus, the Forum will be closed to posting for two weeks, and our Facebook group will be closed for a three week period.
Why are we taking this break? The CM method is about more than homeschooling; it's about life and relationships. We would like our AmblesideOnline family of members, moderators, Auxiliary and Advisory to step back from lessons and computers, and take time to savor the holidays with their loved ones.
Should you need AO information during the break, existing threads will remain available at the forum, and of course the AmblesideOnline website will remain up and running.
We encourage you all to explore AO's special Holiday pages during the break!
The Advisory's Favorite Holiday Stories and Poems:

Holiday Carols and favorite CDs:
http://www.amblesideonline.org/HolidayCarols.shtml
And a Bonus!
An Advisory member's son, a "guinea pig" graduate, composed chorale music for a Chesterton Christmas poem, performed here by Milligan College: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZKH5GO9LGs
An AO graduate created this lovely collection of traditional music for Christmas, beautifully arranged for violin: A Violin for Christmas (affiliate link; mp3 download) http://amzn.to/1OmsPB8
May you find time to reflect on the meaning of Christmas, enjoy time with those you love, and be refreshed as you anticipate the coming year.
We wish you a Merry Christmas!

Year 7 Exam Answer key incomplete |

I posted this in another forum thread and was told to share it here as well.
I was just setting up the exams for my son and found the answer key for Term 1 for Grammar isn't complete. For #4, "Parse the italicized words", I don't see any answers as to what they are. Please let me know (yes, I admit, I'm very weak in grammar and I can't guarantee my child will get them right and I want to make sure he IS right). Thanks.
