Form 1 A, Term 1

Bible
   1. Tell your favorite Bible story so far.
   2. Tell about Abraham and Melchizedek. (Gen. 14)
   3. Tell about Abram freeing Lot from captivity. (Gen. 14; for older students in Form 1)

Writing/Penmanship
   Younger students: Copy "Then he went to fetch his mother." (from Just So Stories, Armadillos)    Older students: Copy: "Off went the proud Kangaroo on his four little legs like a bunny." (Just So Stories, Armadillos; Not all children are writing at this level. Adapt to your student's ability.)

Tales Younger Form 1 students should choose one; older student should do both.
   1. Tell a fairy tale you remember from this term, or tell what you know of Harald as a little boy. (Blue Fairy Book or Viking Tales)
   2. Tell how the Leopard got his spots, or something that happened to Christian. (Jungle Book or Pilgrim's Progress)

History Younger Form 1 students should choose two; older student should do all three.
   1. Tell about Boadicea, or, about St. Alban. (An Island Story, ch 5 or 7)
   2. Tell the story of The Brave Three Hundred. (50 Famous Stories Retold)
   3. Tell the story of Alexander and Bucephalus. (50 Famous Stories)

Geography
   1. Find Italy and Switzerland on the globe. Or, Find Lake Superior on a map. (Paddle to the Sea)
   2. What is the shape of the earth? (from this term's casual geography talks)

Natural History and General Science
   1. Describe your favorite nature walk this term. What did you find?
   2. Tell about "the bully in the old orchard." (The Burgess Bird Book, ch 2)

   Copy "The King was sullen and angry." (An Island Story, ch 36 Not all children are writing at this level. Adapt to your student's ability.)

   2. Tell part of a "Just So Story." (Just So Stories)

   1. Tell the story of the White Ship, or, tell a story about Richard Coeur de Lion. (An Island Story ch 28 or 33-34)
   2. What do you know of John, Whom Nobody Loved? (Child's History of the World, ch 57; John is also in An Island Story ch 35-36)
   3. Tell about Androclus and the Lion. (50 Famous Stories)

Geography
   1. Name some things Paddle passed as he traveled through the Great Lakes. (Paddle to the Sea; whole book) Or, Trace Paddle's journey on a map from Canada to the sea.
